He Is My Shield

He Is My Shield

Psalm 3:3-4
3But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4I was crying to the Lord with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy mountain.

When was the last time you cried out to God and you knew He heard you?  I can recall so many times in my life where I have cried out to God but I have to say some of those times I could not hear Him.  At those points I can’t really say why I didn’t hear Him but I know that God used those moments of silence to draw me closer to Him.  Sounds crazy but it is true~

I am was drawn to a place of rest and reflection whether I wanted to be there or not.  I firmly believe God brings us to those points in our lives to be able to reflect on our lives and realize that we need Him.

He is our shield!
He is the one who comforts us in our greatest needs!
He is the one who can meet all our needs!
HE is WHO HE says HE is!

Do you find comfort in knowing God is with you all the time?  I hope so because without Him I can find no joy in my circumstances. I think back over my life and realize that so many times He has been my shield and he has answered me from His holy mountain.  Praise be to God.

He was there when I could not hear Him.
He was there when I could not see Him.
He was there holding me up when I wanted to fall.
He was there guiding my steps.
He was there giving me hope.

He is still here with me today using me and my story to bring Hope to others.  Let God be your shield so you can share your story with others, in order to give them Hope in the God we serve.

Prayer: Father, Thank you for reminding me all the times you have been my shield.  For all the times you answered me even when I could not see it or hear it clearly.  For just being WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE.  Thank you!

Meditate on this song:
Thank You by Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea

We heard the angels singing
Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came

And he said, "Friend
You may not know me now"
And then he said, "But wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight"

"And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart"

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

Then another man stood before you
And said remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry

You didn't have much money
But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that's why I am here today

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

One by one they came
Far as the eye could see
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity

Little things that you had done
Sacrifices made
Unnoticed on the earth
In heaven now proclaimed

And I know up in heaven
You're not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure
There were tears in your eyes

As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said, "My child look around you
Great is your reward"

Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave

I am so glad you gave
