We enjoyed this Friday!
Yesterday, while homeschooling we were able to enjoy the sounds of rain! I know for a lot of you in the southern states of the US, you have had plenty of rain but for us this was our first big rain this year! Even though it only lasted a few minutes it was still nice. It has been HOT and this was a reprieve from all the heat.
We also had a visitor join us for our read aloud time. Our visitor was Mr. Gecko. He just sat it Sydney's hands for a few minutes. We are reading Blood on the River James Town 1607 by Elisa Carbone. The kids are enjoying learning about the history of James Town.
Today, we have enjoyed an overcast day but our weather app says that it is a mild 95 and feels like 100 at 2:15 pm. The reality is that you do get use to the heat, not saying that you like it when it is this hot with no AC but your body becomes acclimated. I always need to remind myself on those days when it is still 90 degrees and I am turning on the gas stove, that all is good!
